The Roddam Charity was delighted to award a grant to British Paralympic Athlete, Ben Rowlings.

23-year-old Ben, lives in Newport with his parents and is currently studying for an English degree at Sterling University.

Ben was thrilled with the support he received and has sent us the following letter of thanks:

The support I have received from the Roddam Charity will help massively going into the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The grant I received has gone towards a new race chair. The race chair is the most important piece of equipment I can have for my sport; without a race chair that fits perfectly, I wont be able to achieve my goals, which over the next couple of years is to make the Great Britain team for the World Championships in Dubai of November 2019 and selection for the 2019 Paralympic team.

The next few years are the most critical point of an Olympic cycle and the point where I have to dot the I’s and cross all the T’s and make sure all my training, nutrition, and most importantly my equipment are in the best shape possible to perform at my best. I wouldn’t be able to do this without your support. Thank you. Ben Rowlings.
